About
I took my first jewellery class in 2019 up in Edinburgh, where I was studying for my degree in Sustainable Development. In 10 weeks I made a statement (but not in a good way) copper necklace. Though I didn't much like the necklace, the classes became the highlight of my week and I continued these until early 2020.
My Grandpa used to do some silversmithing, making silver boxes and bowls, so just before lockdown I got some of his tools, silver and the workbench he built and moved them to my parents house where I stayed all of lockdown. I bought a few other basic tools to make a few family members/friends jewellery and then set up an Instagram which luckily kickstarted my career!
I graduated in June 2021 and now make jewellery full-time in London. From September 2021 to July 2023 I enrolled on both the silver & fine jewellery diploma courses with the Jeweller's Academy. I was first introduced to wax carving while doing this and have taken several online and in person courses to hone my techniques as well as reading some brilliant books on the subject - especially 'Art of Wax' by Elsa Tierney.
I am so excited to get to share my love of wax carving with you and I hope with these kits you will experience the magic of jewellery making without the considerable start up costs but also find a relaxing new hobby.
As of this March I now have a workbench at the wonderful FORGE space just off Hatton Garden. You can find the jewellery I make there as well at the Contemporary Applied Arts Gallery in Marylebone, London.
